The reading room will be set up so that users may access information and find what they need as quickly and easily as possible.

In the reading room, users will have access to Latvia’s largest collection of scientific literature in the humanities; the collection will feature works in Latvian, English, Russian, German, French, and other languages. Information from the following fields will be available: management, anthropology, philosophy, logic, ethics, social sciences, sociology, statistics, demographics, politics and international relations, law, government administration, welfare, psychology, pedagogy, nations, history, geography, archeology, etc.

Readers will also have access to an electronic catalogue, CD-ROMs, Latvian and foreign licensed databases, and various services, like the compilation of bibliographies, scanning of individual publications, and the short-term reservation of books.

The reading room will be equipped with tables for one, two, or four readers, as well as carrels with various levels of isolation and outlets for laptops.
