SIA Adam Auto, the largest dealer of Opel, Chevrolet, and SsangYong automobiles in the Baltic States, has donated a new Opel Zafira to the Latvian National Library Foundation (LNBAB), thereby becoming a supporter of the Latvian National Library (LNB) project; the new automobile will help implement the LNB project’s activities.

A total of LVL 2,111 was earned at an auction of “The White Angel’s Story” project’s porcelain angels, which was organized by the project’s supporter, SIA Furors. SIA Furrors donated all the funds earned at the auction to the construction of the Castle of Light.

On February 27, 2007, the Latvian National Library Foundation presented awards to the winners of the competition “Parish Librarian: Carrier of Light.” Librarians from fifteen parishes were nominated, and one librarian from each region was awarded the prize, making him or her a “Carrier of Light.”

From 1998 to 2006, LVL 441,000 was donated to the Latvian National Library (LNB) project; LVL 75,000 was donated in 2006 alone. The largest donor last year was A/S Eko Investors, which donated LVL 16,605 to the LNB project. Since 1998, the company has donated a total of LVL 51,000, becoming the first company to enjoy the advantages of the campaign “Immortalize Your Name in the Castle of Light” and immortalize its name in a special plaque of gratitude next to a reading room in the Castle of Light. The company’s name will appear on a plaque next to the reference and information center’s reading room.

The traditional Service of Light, organized by the Latvian National Library Foundation and the Public Service Language Centre, took place at the Dome Church, in Riga, on December 21, 2006. During the service, worshipers prayed for teachers, librarians, the Castle of Light, and Lightnet.
