 Now you can mark a special holiday, anniversary or bequests with a special gift – your name displayed in the new Latvian National Library building – The Castle of Light. When you celebrate a birthday, wedding anniversary or other important event in your life, you can ask friends and guests to make your gift a donation in your name to the Latvian National Library Project. All donations will be added up and based on the total sum, a plaque with your name will appear on a chair, table, shelf or in a reading room in the Castle of Light.
If your friends have donated:
Ls 1-100 (2 - 150 EUR)
Your name is entered in a special book
Ls 100 or more (150 EUR or more)
Your name is engraved in the atrium on a replica of the Castle of Light
Ls 300 (450 EUR)
Your name is engraved on a plaque in a public reading room
Ls 500 (700 EUR)
You will be identified on a table plaque in a reading room
Ls 1000 (1500 EUR)
Your name will appear on a shelf plaque in a reading room
Starting from Ls 50 000 or Ls 450 per sq. metre (Starting from 71 000 EUR or 650 EUR per sq. metre)
Your name will be displayed in one of the library’s auditoriums or reading rooms
You can delight your friends with a special surprise on their birthdays or other anniversaries by memorializing their name forever in the Castle of Light building.
Among those who have already asked friends to mark their birthdays with donations to the LNL Project are “Statoil” Executive Director, Baiba Rubesa, Latvian pathologist Andris Kadeмis (in Minstere, Germany) and former Latvian Minister of Culture and Latvian National Library Foundation director, Karina Pзtersone. Gifts to the Castle of Light Project in their name already total 2555 lats.
