The Latvian National Library Foundation has begun a new campaign, in collaboration with publishers and booksellers, in which the proceeds from books purchased by readers are donated to the construction of the Castle of Light. The books participating in the campaign are marked with a label that reads: “Pērkot šo grāmatu, Jūs atbalstāt Gaismas pils celtniecību” (By purchasing this book, you are supporting the construction of the Castle of Light).

The campaign “Publishers for the Castle of Light!” provides the opportunity for publishers to contribute to the Latvian National Library (L.N.L.) project and promote the construction of the new library building; the campaign also provides readers with the opportunity to become supporters of the Castle of Light. By purchasing books marked with a label that reads, “Pērkot šo grāmatu, Jūs atbalstāt Gaismas pils celtniecību” (By purchasing this book, you are supporting the construction of the Castle of Light), the reader becomes a donor and a supporter of the Castle of Light; he or she also acquires a valuable work of literature, as the campaign offers books that may form the basis for a personal library: publications with historical and cultural significance, original Latvian literature, translations of foreign literature, popular scientific literature, and educational and non-fiction literature.

The Foundation invites the Latvian public to show their support and actively participate in the creation of the Castle of Light. The Foundation has provided various ways for citizens and businesses to donate in support of the L.N.L. project. An increasingly popular form of donation is for businesses to donate their products, or a part of the proceeds from the sale of a specific product.
